Mäntæ Marketplace Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 23-Aug’26

  1. Introduction

1.1 Mäntæ (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an online platform (“Marketplace” or “Platform”) connecting individuals (“You” or “Consumers”) with food businesses (“Vendors”) offering surplus meals at discounted prices.

1.2 By using the Platform, you join us in reducing food waste while enjoying good food at a lower price.

1.3 These Terms are a binding legal agreement between you and Mäntæ. By accessing or using the Marketplace, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1.4 Additional policies such as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are incorporated by reference.

  1. How the Marketplace Works

2.1 Reservation Flow:

  • Vendors list available items (e.g., “Rescue Meals”).
  • You view available listings, optionally based on location if enabled.
  • You make a reservation and pay via the Platform.
  • You receive a booking confirmation code (e.g., “Collection Code”) redeemable at the Vendor location.

2.2 Collection:

  • You pick up your reserved item during the time window specified by the Vendor.
  • You may be required to confirm pickup via the Platform.
  1. User Accounts

3.1 You must register and maintain a valid account to make reservations.

3.2 Provide accurate, current, and complete information. Keep all account details updated.

3.3 You must:

  • Not impersonate others or use offensive usernames.
  • Not share your login or use another’s account.
  • Not automate access or abuse the Platform.

3.4 You agree to pay for your reservations and only make bookings you intend to collect.

  1. Cancellations & Refunds

4.1 By You: Once a reservation has been successfully confirmed and payment has been completed, the customer may not cancel the reservation, except where a cancellation right is expressly provided under the applicable Mealsbridge Refund & Cancellation Policy.

4.2 By the Vendor or Us: A reservation may be cancelled by the Vendor or by Mäntæ in circumstances including, but not limited to, unavailability of the reserved food, operational issues, store closure, safety concerns, or other circumstances that prevent the order from being fulfilled. Where a reservation is cancelled by the Vendor or Mäntæ before collection, the customer will be notified and, where applicable, will receive a refund in accordance with the Mäntæ Refund & Cancellation Policy.

4.3 Refund Timing: Refunds are issued promptly if a cancellation occurs. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the end of the pick-up window.

4.4 Pickup Window: The applicable pickup window, including its start and end time, will be displayed to the customer at the time of reservation and in the order details. Customers are responsible for reviewing these details and arriving within the specified period.

4.5 Failure to Collect / No-Show: The customer is responsible for collecting the reserved order within the pickup window specified at the time of reservation. If the customer fails to collect the order within the specified pickup window, the reservation will be treated as a no-show and will ordinarily be non-refundable. The customer will not be entitled to a refund merely because the order was not collected, unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly provided under the Mäntæ Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7.2 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Vendor actions or item contents.
  • Your use of the Platform.
  • Delivery environment or any indirect consequences.

7.3 Our liability will not exceed the total amount you paid for reservations in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Food Saved is Carbon Saved

Food waste isn’t just about food. It’s about wasted water, energy, land, transport, and labor — all of which carry a carbon footprint.

According to trusted global studies:

1 kg of food waste = approx. 2.5 kg of CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e)
(Source: WRAP UK, Project Drawdown)

So, when you save 1,000 kg of food with ‘MÄNTÆ’, you also prevent around 2,500 kg (2.5 tons) of greenhouse gases.

Our Win–Win–Win Model
  • Consumers Win: Affordable meals, diverse choices, and a chance to be eco-heroes.
  • Vendors Win: Extra revenue, stronger branding, and reduced waste.
  • Planet Wins: Lower carbon footprint, less waste, and a more sustainable food system.
